September 1866 - March 1868: as a 13 year old Vincent van Gogh moved to Tilburg to become a student at the National High School. The school is housed in the former palace of King Willem II
History and the newest technology merge together in Vincent’s Art Room. The young Van Gogh attended school here. You can see in the reconstructed classroom how he received his first serious drawing lesson from the renowned master Constant Huijsmans, then get to work at once in the 21st century digital art room.

Vincent’s Art Room can be visited individually or in groups. There is a master class on the Sundays when shops are open to learn how to draw. This is specially for children under the leadership of an artist! And all this while the parents can go shopping in the shopping centre around the corner. You can also use it for children’s parties or for exhibiting your own work in the Gallery.
Come with your class to draw and learn about Vincent van Gogh. There are school programmes from primary (elementary) education to Secondary (High School) level. Vincent’s Art Room is part of the Tilburg City Museum.
