Beyond Brabant

Interest in Van Gogh is significant way beyond Brabant. Van Gogh
Brabant is a partner of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
This museum is a must for every Van Gogh lover, for nowhere in
the world will you find so many of Vincent’s paintings all together.
The same goes for the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo.

Beyond the Netherlands

Vincent van Gogh lived and worked in many different places. His
life is highlighted in presentations including the Borinage, Arles, Saint-Rémy de Provence and Auvers-sur-Oise.

Borinage

In December 1878 he was detached to the Borinage, a poor mining
area in southern Belgium where he worked as a lay preacher. Vincent
lived among the mine workers in conditions of poverty. More information.

Arles
Vincent van Gogh lived in Arles between February 1888 and May 1889.
A productive period of intense and passionate work under the southern
skies. Despite not having a single canvas by the master, his spirit is
present everywhere. Fondation Vincent Van Gogh:

Saint-Rémy de Provence

From 8 May 1889 Vincent Van Gogh lodged in the Asile Saint-Paul de Mausole. This monastery where he was received and nursed is now a cultural and tourist centre. Van Gogh became fascinated by the quality of the light in Saint-Rémy and the vivacious beauty of the landscape. More information:

Auvers-sur-Oise

The village of Auvers-sur-Oise, close to Paris became a great source of inspiration for Van Gogh. He stayed here for the last two months of his life. You can immerse yourself in the world of this great artist during a visit to Auvers-sur-Oise.
